TS 2011 Promo:
I've teamed up with my younger brother, Ace Gonzalez.
Whom is also the co-founder of-
-to help me with releasing my songs.
(Feel free to check out all of his videos. They're nothing short of awsomeness.)
He's agreed to help me shoot the videos. The way I'll be releasing the story is mainly through videos, a little but from pictures, and some through blogs...but mainly VIDEOS. haha. Due to the fact that I have no funds, equipment, or resources to actually record my songs to make them sound exactly the way I want them to sound. So this is the best I can do for now. I'm hoping the future I can record them with gratifying quality. You'd have to sift out the story from following the lyrics and putting the pieces together. It's a puzzle. That I had to figure out first-hand. I hope you can enjoy it with me...(us).
I'm aiming for January 2011. We'll see how things go.

Indoors.
I spent the entire day of December 20, 2010 indoors. It's been raining since last night and it seems like the clouds aren't going to call it quits any time soon. haha It's amazing though, what rain can do.
I spent most of my time, in my room, on the laptop, trying to organize all of my lyrics. I'm trying to figure out how exactly I'm going to release these tunes. So far I've got a total of about 10-11 songs that are either totally complete or near completion in their structure. But out of 24 possible songs total, I'm trying to figure out which one's should be released to make the cut onto the Toushimy youtube channel. When I first started releasing our songs, I released at the time that was proper. When the actual event was taking place. But through the year of 2010, I've been able to look at how far I've come as a person(s), and writer, since 2008. Putting the songs in chronological order seems like a more suitable choice in respects to unleashing this story. This way it's easier to comprehend & much more enjoyable to follow along with.
I'm excited for this project. We're both excited.

Below is a list of what I've got so far:
Recognize any of the names? =)
I'm hoping I can start adding more color onto this sheet with box's full of x's & check marks.I'm excited for this project. We're both excited.

What have I released so far?
The idea of TOUSHIMY SIMMONS came to me probably back in 2004-2005. I was about 11-12 years of age...maybe even 13? haha. Although the exact date & age of when the name came to my head is not certain, what is certain is that it started off as nothing more than an inside joke between me and a good friend of mine named, Kenny Tran. Back then I had spent most of my free-time at his house writing music together.
Now, Kenny is Vietnamese. So nearly everyone in the household, plus extended family, had asian names aside from their American names. Of course, I felt a little left out. So in an effort to fit in more, I randomly yelled out:

"TOE-SHE-MY!!!"
(As if a Vietnamese mother yelled at her young son for sneaking his little hand into the family's cookie jar a little bit before dinner...and he wasn't supposed to.)
Kenny laughed and so I decided to stick with it. (No one around the house caught on to it, by the way.)
It wasn't until late 2008 that I starting writing a song. A song for a very special someone. A girl...a girl that started to catch my attention. She not only stole my attention, but my heart. In order to cleverly tell her how I felt, I was inspired to write her a song. I called it, "We Live In Pictures". It was a simple song, just a chorus, a few chords, but no real solid structure just yet. I thought it would be a good idea to release this as my first song for my solo project. Then I remembered my old nick-name & adopted it to be this other side of myself. In a way, my alter ego. The part of me that was confident. Confident enough to expose my feelings towards her, despite any consequence...
The following story that will proceed as I expose these lyrics to you, will show you everything that happened after that. And at times, I'll take you to days before it as well.
I tried, in my best ability, to keep track of the releases I made on myspace & youtube in the past.

So, who is Toushimy Simmons?
Toushimy Simmons is the alter ego of myself, so to speak.
He's here to express real emotions through the art of song. To have fun, smile, and enjoy sharing the music that he composes. Although, don't take him for a musical genius. They're simple songs, simple lyrics. Toushimy lives motivated by the line, "Each song is never written for nothing, but for a special being." Each song has a hidden story behind the lyrics. In between each line is an inside joke or personal experience aimed directly to that certain person. But it is both of our hopes that listeners can find something they like about these 'Toushi'tunes'. It's the life of myself told by someone a little less shy to tell it.
This is our story. All of us...
It keeps on going, and going, and going. So for the sake of the story being told, or even remembered, it's our job to keep track. We're keeping track of the past.
